Creating a portfolio
Updated over a week ago

Creating process

1. Go to My Portfolios page

You can click on the link above, or you can find the button if you click on the account icon on the top-right corner of the screen:

2. Click Create New Portfolio

3. Enter the name for your portfolio and choose the exchange

4. Choose the coins you want to add to the portfolio

You can type in the name of the coin or add them from the 2nd column:

5. Set the ratio

As soon as you add the coins you need, you must determine their ratio. The portfolio will initially be divided equally among all currencies you selected. 1 is not a number of coins, but a part of the entire portfolio - each coin has 1 equal share of the portfolio.

The "Share" field can contain whole numbers and fractions. How the calculations are performed depends on your preferences. If you use percentages, the portfolio in the image above can be distributed in the following way:

You can also imagine the Share as a percentage. Since there are 5 coins in the portfolio which constitute 100%, we allocate 20% for each to get a uniform distribution (100%/5 = 20%. If there were 20 coins, then in the case of uniform division, we would allocate 5% for each, since 100%/20 = 5%).

FYI: the uniform distribution was only used to simplify the calculations; you can distribute the portfolio non-uniformly as well, for example, 50\10\10\10\20.

Portfolio analysis at the creation stage

The following analysis tools are available when adding coins to the portfolio:

Distribution – this is a standard diagram visually displaying the percentage ratio of the coins. If you move your mouse over any of the colors, you can see the name of the coin and its % in the portfolio.

BTC profit and USD profit – reflect the corresponding profit over the past 24 hours.

Statistics – displays the same % over the past day and month at the top. The description of the remaining values exceeds the scope of this article, but if you are interested, look them up online. We recommend that you begin by reading about Markowitz's portfolio theory.

Completing the creation

As soon as you have selected all coins of interest to you and added them to the portfolio, you can save the portfolio or use the coins immediately on the exchange:

"Save + Publish" saves your portfolio in the section "My portfolios" and makes it available for other users of the service.

After clicking this button you will be redirected to the page with the entire information about this brand new portfolio.

P.S. You can also view other users' portfolios and maybe there you will find the one that suits you best.
